when someone

shares the road with you.

RunFactor is for everyone who has always run alone and wondered what it would be like to have company. No elite clubs. No judgement. Just people, streets and a reason to head out, even when it rains.

06 — FAQ

Quick
questions.

What is RunFactor?

RunFactor is a social running app designed to turn running and walking into opportunities to connect. You’ll be able to meet people nearby, join local groups and share the joy of heading out together.

How will I find people to go out with?

You’ll be able to discover people and groups nearby and choose outings that fit your pace and schedule. Shared activities will be a starting point for meeting new running or walking companions.

How will groups and outings work?

You’ll be able to explore local groups, check the time, distance and pace of their outings, and join the ones that suit you. A way to meet up, move together and make getting together a habit.

Do I need to be fit already to take part?

No. You’ll be able to choose outings that suit your pace, preferred distance and available time. Whether you’re just starting or have been running for years, what matters is finding the right company.

Will I be able to use RunFactor for walking too?

Yes. Social running on RunFactor will include walking: you’ll be able to find people to walk with and join group outings. Enjoying each other’s company won’t depend on speed.

Will I be able to record my activities?

Yes. You’ll be able to use your phone’s GPS to record the route, distance, time and pace of your runs and walks. Tracking will help you look back on your outings and remember the ground you covered together.

What will I be able to share with my companions?

You’ll be able to share summaries of your outings and revisit group activities with the people who were there. Every outing can become a shared memory and a reason to head out together again.

Draft · version 2026-11-07-draft.4

Privacy and cookie notice

Draft to complete before publication: the controller’s identity and contact details, a channel for exercising your rights and details of the providers’ configuration have not yet been added.

What this notice covers

This notice covers browsing the RunFactor website and joining its waiting list. It does not cover the features of the future app. The controller’s identity and contact details are temporarily omitted from this draft; they are needed to complete the notice and make privacy requests available in practice.

Data collected

The waitlist records your email address, the UTC date of your first registration and, for new registration actions, the UTC date, language and version of the notice and consent wording shown to you. The waitlist database does not record IP addresses or user agents. Registrations made before this flow was introduced are not assigned consent retrospectively.

Purposes and legal grounds

Your email is used only to manage your waitlist registration and notify you when RunFactor becomes available, based on consent expressed by submitting the form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You do not authorise newsletters, promotional offers, disclosure for advertising or profiling. Evidence of the consent action is kept to document the request and its handling, in compliance with accountability obligations (GDPR Articles 6(1)(c) and 7(1)). No decisions with legal effects are made automatically.

Your choice and withdrawal

Joining is optional. Without your email and consent we cannot add you to the waitlist, but you can browse the website. You can withdraw consent at any time and request removal from the list, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. A contact for doing so must be added before publication: this draft does not yet provide an operational request channel.

Retention

Waitlist data and the evidence of the consent action are kept until the list closes, for no longer than 12 months from the first registration, or deleted earlier following withdrawal. Registering again updates the evidence of the action without extending the original deadline. Exported copies and backups must follow the same retention limit; deletions must be reapplied when restoring a backup. Retention periods for providers’ technical logs must be verified and specified in the final notice.

Access to data and infrastructure

Data may be processed by people authorised to manage the waitlist and the technical providers needed to operate the service. The intended setup uses OVHcloud hosting and Cloudflare for traffic delivery and security. These services may process IP addresses, request information and technical logs to deliver and protect the website; the legal ground to be defined for the final configuration is legitimate interest in service security and continuity (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). No newsletter or analytics services are integrated. Actual recipients, roles and applicable agreements must be verified before publication.

International transfers

No claim is made that processing takes place exclusively in Italy or Europe. Before publication, the regions, subprocessors and international access of the services actually in use must be checked, identifying any transfers outside the European Economic Area and applicable safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, together with a way to obtain a copy. These details are not yet complete in this draft.

Cookies and similar tools

The website code does not set cookies, localStorage or other identifiers for advertising, profiling or behavioural analytics. Fonts and images are served by the website. Infrastructure services may use technical security tools depending on the active configuration: for example Cloudflare’s __cf_bm and cf_clearance cookies, only when the corresponding features are enabled. Their actual presence and duration must be checked on the published website and specified in the final notice. Strictly necessary technical tools do not require consent; any non-essential tools must be assessed and, where required, blocked until consent is obtained. The informational banner uses the technical cookie runfactor_cookie_notice to remember dismissal for 180 days. The cookie contains only the notice version, identical for everyone, rather than a personal or advertising identifier; it is shared across the Italian and English versions of the website and does not authorise any further processing. You can delete it in your browser settings to show the notice again.

Your rights

Where the GDPR provides for them, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your data, withdraw consent and object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or the competent authority in your country. The controller must provide a working contact for requests and respond within the applicable time limits, normally one month. This draft does not replace those missing details.

Updates

The version shown identifies both the complete notice and the wording beside the form. Updates will be made available here; additional purposes are not covered by joining the waitlist. This version is a draft dated 7 November 2026 and is not a complete notice ready for publication.
